The use of chicken-based reagents, such as chicken IgY, which do not cross-react with mammalian IgG, eliminates the effects of interfering antibodies in the samples. WebHorse serum has been used as a supplement in minimum essential medium for cerebrocortical neuronal−glial cell cultures [ 2] and RPMI-40 medium for PC12 cells derived from rat adrenal medulla pheochromocytoma. [ 3] It has also been used in immunohistochemistry of Florida manatee brain sections. [ 4]
